Only Two Shows Left!

Hey Everybody

The way I see things, this season is going to wrap itself up in a nice big bow here in about a month. We all will pack the season away in that special memory trunk that we all hold so dear.

We will remember the first day we all sat together in St. Andrew's.... a group of “mostly” middle-aged people gazing with wonder as Dennis DeLucia finally spilled the beans as to what we would be playing this 2007 season. We laughed with and AT each other as Dennis rehashed old gags and schemed the newest and freshest comedy.

Some of us questioned our ability to dig down deep into our hearts and find that “young” musician who played through the hard parts of “Ritual Fire Dance” in the day. Yes there was plenty of head scratching. Yes there was more than just a little doubt. BUT, in the end, we all just knew.... WE could do this. After all, WE are Bridgemen.... aren't we???

We made it through the harsh winter schedule, and made the commitment to this thing that we all do. This thing that we can't explain to most of our neighbors, but we can't bear to spent two months away from. We stretched, and whined, and laughed and we hurt together.... ours mouths swollen, our hands sore, and our backs ready for traction. But.... WE were never happier. WE were together. We knew that We would see each other again soon and We would again share this special bond.

Then came spring. Time for Parades, time for drill and time to bring this thing that we do outside. It was time to share our precious secret with our friends, our families and our neighbors. We were getting ready.... the hard work was starting to pay off. We WERE doing this.... because WE are Bridgemen. There is nothing that We cannot overcome.... nothing.

We wowed them.... We wowed them all. We wowed them in Bayonne, We wowed them in Harrisburg, We wowed them in Reading and We left them ALL begging for more, no matter where We put on those beautiful yellow coats. The circus was in town. The Bridgemen were performing tonight. That IS what we do. We perform. We entertain. WE are Bridgemen. Summer was coming.... and We were ready.

So here We are.... summer 2007. TOS was a success. Bayonne embraced their brazen ambassadors, and once again showed their appreciation through patronage and applause. We are in the soul of this town, We are the Bridgemen.

Allentown.... what can any of us say? There are few magic moments in any one lifetime. We are all lucky enough to share a magic moment everytime We are together.... Allentown was magic. This year's magic moments, however, are quickly drawing to a close.

We have been silly together, We have worked hard together, We have disagreed with each other (vehemently at times), We have had more than a FEW cocktails together, We have given our all together.... We have all been Bridgemen.... Together.

So.... all of you Bridgemen.... who have made it all the way to this point in my sappy diatribe: Do yourself a favor. Sit down quietly some night. Call up this Bridgemen website. And look at all of the pictures that have been compiled over our short alumni history, and our long corps history. And do yourself a favor.... remember all of the great things WE have done together. WE are Bridgemen.... Lets all enjoy being together. I guarantee you will smile (and I bet you cry a little too). Time flies by when you are having fun.... so don't miss out!
